Innovation and Development Promotion Centre

The mission of the Innovation and Development Promotion Centre (IDPC) is to support the social and environmental development, and the development and promotion of innovations as an element stimulating the growth of the economy of the northeast Poland and the border areas.
The organization conducts its mission through implementation of projects supported by international, state and local funds, especially in the area of improving the quality of vocational training, social economy, professional activation, business development and knowledge transfer.
At the initiative of the Center, a metalwork cluster has been created. The cluster includes enterprises of metal working and engineering of Lubelskie, Podlaskie and Warmian-Mazurian voivodeships. The Center functions as a manager of the cluster. The projects implemented in cooperation with the enterprises of the cluster related to professional development in the field of modern technology, are included in the list of the best practical projects of the Ministry of Education.
Using the cross-border location of the region, the Center implements cross-border projects in the socio-economic sphere with partners from Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia, Russia and Ukraine. The result of the activities was the establishment of the Office of International Cooperation by the Center in Suwalki and the Center of Innovation and Development of Daugavpils in Latvia.
The Center also participates in the so-called "small initiatives", the target group of which is children, students, seniors, representatives of scientific community and artists. The Center was the first which developed and successfully introduced the innovation project of teaching seniors to use computer and the Internet. The third phase of the project won the prize of "Brand of the Year 2008 of Podlasie" in the category of Business.
In particular, we are not indifferent in welfare and development of the Podlaskie voivodeship. The Podlasie is one of the most interesting regions in Europe with big economic and tourist potential.
Outstanding natural features, rich culture and traditions, economic conditions and clean environment predetermine the competitiveness of the region.
The region is called "green lungs" of Poland. It can "boast" of clean air and water, and forest complexes, such as the Bialowieza Forest, and numerous national parks among which are Bebransky, Bialowieza, Wigry and Narvyansky.
The Podlasie constantly improves their attractiveness and economic potential. The advantageous border location, nearness of the capital of Poland, skilled labour and its low cost, two special economic zones, three  science and technology parks that are under construction, create a favourable image for Polish and foreign investors.
The Centre cooperates with state and local authorities, universities, associations and foundations.  Our work is also supported by entrepreneurs. In their name we speak at the public hearings within consultations on documentation, procedures and regulations.
We hope that the results of our work will have a positive impact on the development of the region.
